I tend to treat supermarkets the same way I used to treat sex.

Get in. Get what you want. Get out. No need to waste any time.!cool!

It's still the same now, although now it's: Spend what seems like 7 hours doing things just because she wants them. When she's decided, we spend half an hour umming ang arring. Empty your wallet.

See the top post for the sort of people you get to 'interact' with.
I prefer to choose who I meet rather than having lowlives thrust upon me
unawares by cruel fate.
OK, it takes a little of the surprise out of life. But I've had enough of the
sort of excitement [muggings, loony motorists etc] that life in London so
readily provides.

Women go to shops to socialise, check out the competition and
occasionally to buy stuff; men go solely to shop and get the Hell out of
there [unless its Halfords or B&Q].
This is simply a variation on women vs. men drivers.

.... yeah, I sort of saw the false dichotomy halfway through.
I should have stuck to my original mild sarcasm about womens' allegedly
different driving-skills.

No, I'd probably say that Nigerians were worse drivers than Chadians
and Ghanaians, and that Martians were worse than Venusians but better
insurance-risks on account of being further away from the Sun.

Note that I used the word 'allegedly' in the above :- )

If you can't avoid the crowds with the hours that shops are open(6.00am to 9.00pm) these days then you've only yourself to blame I'm afraid

I shop 6.30am-7.30am Mon-Sat and have no problems
