I think there's more to Cusack than the pretty boy side you're portraying. He was pretty good in High Fidelity (letting Jack Black steal the film), Grosse Point Blank, even Con Air. And excellent in Being John Malkovich.

I know what you mean about others of his generation, though.

Films hit people in different ways. A friend saw 1408 and just said she didn't like it---didn't go into detail. Quite often mood is important.

Some faces just strike me that way

Rob Lowe & Tom Cruise are the others

Stangley enough I don't have any favourite actors/actresses just favourite films

Hypocritical or what?

The films you mention are good

I'd almost call him a poor mans Kevin spacy but then I'm already out of my depth so I'll just sound the retreat

If anyone's the hypocrite around here it's me. I cannot bring myself to watch anything with Julia Roberts in it. And I virtually have to be handcuffed to a seat to watch Robin Williams in acting mode.

One film I would recommend---I know it came out last year, but I just got round to watching it after good word of mouth (and I don't believe in the Long John Silver approach to films)---is The Prestige. Great cast, wonderful story, and treats you like an intelligent adult.

The only decent film Roberts ever made was 'Pretty Women'
Almost bought it yesterday(15th anniversary edition) but i resisted and took the homophobic three to tango for $AUS3-00(porn shops, gotta love em)

Robin Williams doesn't act...he's on drugs...trust me I know the signs
All his movies should come with Rent & Destroy warning.I used to like Good Morning Vietnam but I've since come to my senses

I remember seeing the review to the prestige and thinking interesting
Then the illusionist appeared and i went into which one mode
Haven't seen either as yet but thatsfine given I'm always 5 years behind in most things
