I hate Rugby Union with a passion. It's basically a home counties sport for privileged 'Guys' (It used to be chaps) who in my opinion play 'Ragger' because they are not that good when it comes to playing football.
I've had some conversations with these types in the past, and the way they sneer and disparage football is unbelievable. I was certain that was because if they were in a game of football, the last thing they would want is to be made a fool of by, say, some little chavvy tosser from the local council estate who looked like a chimp(Wayne Rooney?)
When I lived in South Africa, the Afrikanner's were even worse, "Kaffer's sport" was the term they 'used' to describe football. That made me despise R/U even more, and doe's anyone remember the test series in which team England was determained to break the international ban on sports-links with the South African goverment? I don't remember any white or Asian faces in that team.
Football has a lot of problems but if you travel around the world it is genuinally loved everwhere, go to any Premier match and you'll find Seikhs, Hindu's, African's , Causican's, Muslims, etc.
I forced myself to watch a England R/U. once, and what a booooring experience that was, everytime England had the ball, what happened? England kicked the ball into touch!!! Rob fucking Andrew's, I just about stopped myself kicking the television in.
Having vented my rage, I watched the England football match last night and usually they are, well..crap! but was I impressed, they might just have a decent chance of winning something, unlike the England R/U. team.

Not bothered about Rugby. Didn't like playing it, nor watching it.........though I have on occasion.

As for England footy last night......

Sorry to be all doom and gloom, but though they won, and though Israel are better that what some are saying, the little & large partnership upfront is just a step backwards for me.

Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Barcalona, Brazil, Argentina, France have all won things without a little & large partnership. You need pace and intelligent movement from strikers these days, and playing a game that favours those sorts of forwards.

Ok, we were affective at least, and it may get us to qualify; I'll take it, but it won't win us much.

I agree, I don't like all these breaks the players take these days.

This England v India series has been one of the worst ill-tempered series I've known since the Australia v New Zealand series when Trevor Chappell bowled that under arm delivery in 1980/81.

Both England and India were guilty of bad behaviour and the match referee seemed very weak to apply the players' code of conduct.
