Cheap to make, phone vote lines earn money.

It hasn't helped Jim that he is seen as a parody of himself now. He became famous as 'working lad made good'- now he is just seen as 'fuck the workers'.

I saw his stage act last year. Made me laugh- but most of it was a long anecdote about wanting to fuck singer Katherine Jenkins. But he didn't succeed. He took 30 minutes to say just that- and yes, began to come across as a bit of a sad man.

ITV's vow to clean up its act not going to plan then?

Like Big Brother, I get the impression this is exactly the sort of thing the producers hope for.

He did come over as a bit of a grumpy old man. But anybody who has ever worked in a kitchen knows how stressful it can be. If Adele (celebrity how?) had screwed up that many times in any of the kitchens I have been in she wouldn't have been grumbled at she would have been sacked on the spot.
Brian has been playing the gay card at every opportunity since he got there and certain people have been supporting him because they think it will make them look good.
When Jim asked Brian if he thought he had been made pastry chef because of a bit of stereotyping, Brian took it as an anti gay comment. When Brian said he had had Abi snoring on one side of him and Jim asked him if he was in with the girls, Brian took it as a gay comment. When Marco said he was stood next to the mincer Brian made a fuss about it.
I think ITV fully intended to make Jim look like a bad guy from day one. Hopefully the viewing public will see through it, but I doubt it.

One last thought JD created the BFF in 1999. What has Brian done other than help facilitate the swindling of ITV's audience ?

The thing is that in all the reality shows everyone is now
fully aware of how they will be portrayed. Of course C4 knew what
they were doing bringing Jade Goody back last year as did ITV by
having Jim & Brian on the same show. As somebody said already
these phone vote shows make lots of money for tv stations

I still cannot understand why some of these people go on these progs.
They already know that past contestants have complained about how
these shows are edited - I don't believe for one moment that all celebs
are stupid. Is it just greed or their ego? Both??

Wife swap/holiday showdown etc are just the same for joe public who
appear on these shows. They put total opposites together and someone
(usually the adults) always ends up looking a total pillock in some
shape or form. Is it really worth your fifteen minutes of fame to come
across in this fashion?
Also I'm sure it is hard to lead a near normal life afterwards, there are
no doubt plenty of people in the street/pubs etc ready to call you
a few abusive names once they have seen your tv appearance

I prefer Deal or no Deal.
