Superb result for us. We've had to punch above our weight from the start of the campaign. Fingers crossed we can keep our nerve. Think the away fixture in Georgia will be the crunch match. But topping the table, above the World Cup finalists and a quarter-finalist, isn't bad at all.
Oh, and England---another cracking goal from Owen (the second) after the stonker he scored on Saturday. Lampard and Gerrard may be great players, but they don't work well together, and Gareth Barry has earned his place and deserves to keep it. The late Alf Ramsay, according to Jack Charlton (who was honest enough to own up), didn't always pick his best players, but the ones who would work well as a team. If Ginge takes that on board, and doesn't pull Lampard straight back in when he's fit, he might just keep his job, and even do well at it.
Wales, excellent away win in Slovakia. Hopefully one day they will get the breaks in qualifying and head to a World Cup or European Championship.

Leading down to the wire every game is a crunch, mentally
The Italy game at home will be like walking on egg shells given the 2-0 result earlier in the year.Whether they have the belief to challenge the Italians is the question?Another Holland 1-0 result in the qualifiers a few years back would be a dream result
England always seem to be playing politics with their teams
Best players of their clubs and not best players for the position
How any team is still successful today while still relying on the long ball is beyond me
Bellamy like Giggs before him can always pull one out of the fire but realistically they've never had enough good players to be a team of quality
Similar to Northern Ireland possibly?
Both Irish sides lost...boo hoo

I read on the BBC's sport website that two Northern Irish team mates were involved with a punch up between themselves whilst on an aeroplane.

Yes one of them was last minute "goal scorer" Keith Gillespie ... I wonder if he had a few grand on Iceland to Win 2-1??

Great night for English and particularly Scottish football.
Hope both sides will qualify for the Euros.
