The point I was making I was making is that I found the price to be a tad expensive that is all and if anyone knew of a cheaper price for a product i'm interested in. If idiots like you and marcusallen decide to have a pop at me and my fellow scots then go ahead but as jj pointed out I was simply making a valid point.

You may be able to get a better price in a sexshop, but I guess you would pay more. Cathy seems to have the nrearest thing in the biz to a 'RRP', and distribution of her stuff is, AFAICT, under a pretty tight rein.
BTW, I also was one of the 'idiots' having a 'pop' (in my case, at perceived meanness rather than Scottishness).....this reaction was probably more against those several posters who seem unwilling to pay for anything. These people become very tiresome, very very quickly............

*SIGH*

I try to make a valid point about comparitive prices
and reveal a bit of personal information and
magoo trots out all the anti-Scottish stereotypes.

I have paid full price for *both* volumes of A.E.R. and
have bought cathy's products at sex-shops and feel I am
in a legitimate position to comment on pricing.
I was not leaping to the defence of anyone, but
as this thread reveals - flame wars are easily started.

Civility costs nothing. I choose to withold my e-mail
address because I don't particularly want the sort
of vitriol I encounter on this forum, spilling over
into my inbox.

I was not being vitriolic Lurker. And my stereotypes were made in jest. In fact one of my best mates is Scottish (hes also black and jewish and a muslim and disabled). But hes a right tight-fisted git and he eats deep-fried Mars Bars and Cadburys Cream Eggs with batter on. Because hes a Scot! Your all a bunch of fat eaters and smokers and wash it down with some Irn-Bru. I love Glasgee.

Why dont you order online from Cathy? Tight fisted? Living up to the stereotype?

Magoo (pissed off after seeing things)

You say its too expensive

What exactly are you comparing it too?

30 pounds to me for a Quality product with back up service
is a small price too pay.

cheers

I revisited the 'Real Capital' barely last month, and couldn't heave a brick without hitting a posh restaurant/boutique/
Caledonian Yuppie.
Just like Lunnun (with better-built women).........and no sign of DF Mars bars, although I didn't stray too far into the wilder areas this time. People also smile and say 'please' and 'thank you', which is scary until you remember this is what humans used to be liked before they mutated in the 80s.
But McLurker, please: grow a thicker skin. Like most loonies, M is (fairly) harmless, and is completely devoid of malice (unless you're DS, of course).

Thanks JJ. I am a bit worried that you labeled me a "loony" but I suppose it could have been worse. You could have called me a Sottish Loony! Like Billy Conolly. Hes a right nut job.

Can I just point out to our Scots mates that I do have Scottish blood (watered down with booze and deep fried Mars Bars).

I love Scotland! But it would be better if they got rid of all those Scottish people and replaced them with english ones.

Yours,

Robert The Bruce

Okay, my sense of humour is slowly returning.

I was trying to dampen down a flame war, not start another.
In fact, I bought AER online from Cathy. I have no problem
paying her prices, but I also have no problem with someone
trying to find a cheaper source without drawing a lot of
flak. You should draw you own conclusions about whether
you think I am 'tight.'

This industry deserves to be defended but that also means
we must take the views of customers seriously. Separately
on the forum I have said positive things to Phil Barry
for having improved his product in response to criticisms
made on this forum. I also notice he has recently lowered
the price of 'Cathula' so some practical advice for
Vodka might be wait six months.

Personally I think Scotland would be much nicer with the
English weather... and English girls ;-)

I am proud to say I have never eaten a deep-fried mars-bar
in my life.

As your psychiatrist, I meant 'loony' in a caring way, of course.
Us mental health professionals are equal-opportunity practitioners, and completely free from stereotypical bias.
