Yes sounds right that. I remember one of the other songs by
darts (come back my love) having the singer with the deep voice
singing doo-wop (or something similar) as part of the backing vocals

That is the one I was looking for chap. Such a sweet version. Some links to other stuff of hers that im going to have a listen to tonight. To my eternal shame I had never heard of the young lady untill just now.

Ps

Mr56 "The Darts" song called "Its raining" is actually a different tune im afraid. Stumbled on it last night in the Guinness book of hit singles. Close but no cigar this time. But thankyou all the same

At my local they've just got one of those new juke boxes that has
over x million tunes available. Being a local pub for local people
duelling banjos is quite popular.
Thankfully I have yet hear anybody squeal like a pig

Lol.. and knowing what you are like on here I would just like to confirm
