That's a girl from Bristol called DOLLY READ,voted PLAYBOY Playmate of the Month for May 1966,went on to marry Dick Martin,of the Rowan & Martin comedy team (divorced him in 1975).She starred in the Hollywood movie "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970)...history now!
If my memory serves me correct,I remember I had an intro throu' a model who worked for Harrison Marks...so she could have been Mark's model as well...small World!.
Which goes to prove,some girls DO go to Hollywood from Britain and make it...and marry into the right circles.
Should'nt really say this about a ladies age,but she was born in 1944.Hello Dolly!

Mostly now it is a set -up which may or may not be ones's cup-of-tea.

Can still remember always wanting to visit my grandparents place because thats where my fathers collection of 1960's/1970's magazine collection was stored.

The thing to me which always comes back is the innocence.You didn't-to my recollection-have the nasty look or the bad attitude just the well endowed girlfriend/wife types that could relate to.Even though I was born August 1966 I still find these magazines pictures erotic to say the least.

Nothing good stays the same it evolves or for some mutates.

Of course,the other thing with PLAYBOY I can remember is,the pictures were shot on 2 1/4sq.,and 5 x 4 sheet film,sometimes 10 x 8 for the centre spread.
Plus artificial light stock using tungsten lighting,all too technical for today's lads.
Hardly anyone used 35mm,what's that?
This was REAL photography,and a lot of thought was put into the lighting and poses...that's why the pictures are bitingly sharp.
Penthouse went the opposite,soft focus.
Rollei's and Hasselblad's ruled the day (2 1/4 sq)

Yes TheProf is correct, large format in those days did not mean 6x4.5, 6x6 or 6x7 it meant 10x8 or 7x5, and if you have ever seen a 7x5 or larger transparency you will know that the detail is HUGE, and instead of using good old Photoshop and gaussian blur and duplicating the image then erasing the foreground details (eyes, hair, lips, teeth etc), and merging together, they had dedicated re-touchers who used fine art brushes, and magical techniques to enhance the positive film.

I see that a few of the images have a hint of tungsten fill but lenses were not as "sharp" as they are today, and had a tendency to render the image soft; that and due to colour film technology not being as good as it is today gave a certain atmosphere to the resultant image.

Oh and another thing, big tits do help with the final result.

Well, all these pics are really beautiful, as were many in those days. With the available technology today, ANY of these shots could be reproduced easily, but then, there'd only be a few old farts like us on here who might wanna buy them, so it ain't gonna happen! It was the STYLE of photography in those days that made the girls look so "girl next door", but now everyone seems to want that "I'm a nyphomaniac slut, come & fuck me" look. Interesting how times change! Homer sighs, thinking of the "good old days" & heads to the fridge for another Duff................

But they don't want the low rent slut look, punters are refraining from buying in their droves because that's all that is on offer. It's not that anybody wants it, it's just that they are given it!
