Quite a number of those early '80s Ricaud / Dorcel porn moviews feature simulated rape, with J-P Armand or Gabriel Pontello or someone of that ilk forcing themselves on some bird, who then (invariably and inevitably) ends up enjoying herself.

And they're very "mainstream" movies. I even have a number of them myself in my own porn stash. Living in Germany, this law isn't something I have to worry too much about (I'll still take care not to carry any such Dorcels in my laptop case next time I'm passing through a UK port or airport though, because you never know).

But I keep a keen eye on what's happening in the UK (home country after all, for better or worse) and this sort of thing saddens and annoys me because it seems to me that it's a bit catch-all (i.e. we're told it's aimed at necrophiles and other such oddballs, but in reality it goes much further than that). Even the wording ("appears to be" seems to crop up a lot) leaves much open to the interpretation / bias / whims of the Old Bill / customs official / beak etc.

People are right to be concerned about it. What will they target next ("for our own good" of course)?

Porn is always the target of this kind of vague legislation

The smart thing to do is to keep your collections of any ambiguous material off your PC.

Once a law is enacted it can be used at anytime in the future
or amended to be more specific

Hello Magoo.

I have been really lucky with the fireworks and dogs. I had one dog twenty years ago that loved them, and since all the others have followed suit. Two of mine even sit outside as if they are watching them.

But as I get older they seem to annoy me more.

I do hope this is not the start of grumpy old man syndrome.
