Also i enjoyed it more now than back in 71 72 it was on about the same time as jason king and the persuaders they seem better now too.

Please Sir and The Fenn Street Gang are two shows that make me pine for my youth. Things semed so much better - even though I know they couldn't have been THAT good.
I think Liz Gebhardt (spelling?) who played Maureen (always had a crush on Sir) died quite young. One episode of Please Sir had Mareen and Sharon (the original played by Penny Spencer) going to school in mini dresses. They couldn't do that on TV now without having some man going to gaol for looking.

Liz Gebhardt died aged 51 in 1996 - I didn't know that, I remember her in various comedy shows on the Radio. That's very sad.
