It's not Firefox but your pc. My guess is that it's not being uninstalled/installed properly. When uninstalling/reinstalling, does it hang at any point? Maybe your install sheild has some missing files.
Have you tried uninstalling through the control panel, manually deleting any folders Mozilla created, deleting any applications involved with Firefox, restarting your computer and then reinstalling?
You're not reinstalling Firefox from an old download on your pc are you? Download the latest from the Mozilla website if you are.

You wonder why firefox bother with their own forums
