Any talent show that includes the public vote has bugger all to do with talent and everything to do with being popular

Your right about the future for any winners

Very few actually break the shackles and make some serious money

Its like those record company deals that all unknown acts had to sign before they became big all over again but the marketing is the show instead of the touring

As for those celebrity dancing, singing, ice skating shows
Ever noticed how the winner is always related to the channel
Purely a publicity stunt and cheap entertainment to boot

Those celebrity dancing, singing, ice skating shows often have an arena tour afterwards for the paying public to turf up and see who they voted for.

Allegedly, should a celeb sign up for this before the tv show even airs they may be granted a little "advantage" at the voting stage.

The thing that makes me laugh is when grown men and women enter these talent shows believing that they can still make it.They clearly do have too much time on their hands and lack a social life.

You can hardly blame Simon Cowell for the way he treats them sometimes...even though he is a class A tosser !happy!

The worst part is that some of them are so out of tune/tone deaf
and yet are still deluded into thinking that they are the next big thing

Do they have no friends or family that can be honest enough to
say that they are truely crap?? I would not want any of my family
to be made a lauging stock of in this way on national tv

Yes but we all know it was a fix, Stalin's young 6 year old great
grand-daughter Connie was the rightful winner of that contest

Eh?

Someone called 'Paul Potts' won one of these singing contests the other month.
