For anyone wondering who the fudge cake is Kylie

I guess if billie piper can make a go of it Miss minogue is probaly not that far off the mark

Why they wouldn't opt for a REAL actress and go for a pop icon is pretty obvious

It gave the show a lot of publicity, which is no bad thing. And she can act a bit. The bad news, if you're not a fan, being in DW has given her a taste for acting again. Strewth!

Thought you were off to laugh at the Boxing Day shoppers?

No shopping in OZ....boxing day is a public holiday..even hardware stores are closed...cinemas,delis are about the only places open

I suppose i could drag myself along to see
the golden compass or mr magoriums wonder emporium
but alas i don't feel I have sufficient brain cells working to follow any plots
which is why i'm watching the cricket

Can remember her in Neighbours

A cardboard cut out would have been better

This trend of using singers as actors unless itsfor a singing role really
smacks of oportunism...maybe they are talented to do both but i seriously doubt it

Best example i can think of is Norah Jones in My Blueberry Nights
Great singer but a seriously lame actress IMHO

Thankfully, I haven't even heard of that one, let alone seen it.

Good films if you over look them have a way of rising to the surface anyway

I've sat through far too many films of late because a review has said such and such insert big star put in another stellar performance only to find the story was something that would make a great straight to dvd release

Where are the great stories?

Speaking of which,be sure to keep out an eye out for naked gun number 4
straight to DVD ;-)

try pan's labyrinth... it's a spanish film so you will have to put up with the subtitles but a very good film

At best KM's "acting" (chortles to self) can be described as *ordinary.

* = In Oz this word means below par or poor.

Sounds like a good one

Volver sounds interesting as well

On the other Captain Alatriste sounds like what L.O.R. could have been if aqueezed into 1 film

Subtitles if translated correctly aren't a problem
Dubbing on the other hand is a joke

I often tune into our ethnic TV station
and the majority of films are subtitled. On the whole they appear to be simply more intelligent than most films coming out of hollywood
