Depends where the accident is.

A mate of mine was killed on the A5 near Betws-y-Coed at the notorious Padog bends. These are a series of double bends with, critically, a gap and then a vicious hard right hander- where if you go straight on, its into a rock outcrop.

Every year, 3 or 4 blokes are killed there- mainly on summer Bank Holiday weekends.

For 16 years (1978 to 1994) I had a number of different motorbikes. Yes I had the occasional bump and scrape but nothing serious. The worst accident I was involved in was down to my own fault. I hadn't replaced the worn out tyres and one wet day whilst riding over a slippery man-hole cover and - whaaaaaay crash, bang, wallop - I was off and in a ditch. I was fortunate to only have a couple of small bruises - my bike on the other hand was a complete right-off.

I've had one minor spill when I hit some "cats eyes" at about 15mph but I've had many changes of underwear due to "blind" car/van drivers. Even though there is an advert shown often on TV I'm amazed at the number of drivers who either genuinely don't see bike riders or just disregard them.Bike riders are taught defensive riding but you can only do your best.
Admittedly many bike incidents are self inflicted but I'd bet that many are also the fault of careless drivers.
I'd also bet that most bike riders would agree with the above.
