A few DS games to recommend:
If you like puzzley games, trying to beat high scores and set records etc, then Meteos and Tetris DS are great- I'm sure you'd love them.
For a good action-adventure to keep you going that has a gothic ambience to it and is huge with some nice puzzles etc, the two Castlevania games, Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin are cool. They'll keep you going if things are quiet.
Mario Kart DS is awesome, a must-have.
