Major record companies to begin to collapse..
Madonna leaves Warners for Live Nation;
Macca gone from EMI to Starbucks [after 45 years] ;
Radiohead from EMI to XL;
Stones from EMI to Universal.
EMI could be in deep deep shit- so many of their artists own their own recordings and licence them to EMI; a policy developed in the 70s, ironically, to stop their artists from leaving then.
So not merely the artists could go, but their classic hits- artists like Pink Floyd, Queen, Kate Bush...
The Zeppelin are without a deal- they have their O2 live album to put out; and the rumours are that that will be on Universal as well.
