I met him once years ago at a charity do organised by Joanna Lumley and he was quite sociable and friendly and apparently its reckoned that he has raised over ?30 million for charity in his time. R.I.P.

And i'm sure one day we will lament your passing in quite a similar fashion. You un-feeling,un-sensative prick!!

Good lord you are even more of a huge knob end than I had first put you down for. And please believe me that was pretty fucking huge!!

May you die in a pool of your own filth some time very soon!!

Fucking beautiful, mate. Thank you for making the time I've wasted reading BGAFD over the years almost worthwhile.

Means not a jot. What counts is being a host who the viewers like being in the company of and a professional on set. It's business.

And then he signed a release form, didn't he? It was up to him to put a value on his personal dignity and take responsibility for his decision. If he hadn't wanted for you to see it you wouldn't have.

Trumpton also wrote:

"He and his cohorts on that programme 'Game For A Laugh (sic)' were at the forefront of the dumbing down of British TV."

Crap TV wouldn't be made if there wasn't a market for it. Doesn't stop you watching BBC4 and the feature documentaries on More4, does it? On balance, there is now more intelligent programming on British TV than there has been before.

59 is too young to die for anyone.

It was easy- too easy- to denounce him; and his later TV work got sadly worse by the series. But Game For A Laugh changed the face of British light entertainment- and it got me through 11 and 12 yo winter Saturday nights.

He had been ill for some time. Rest in peace.

There are some pleasant people on the forums and there are a few nasty people who one day will get theirs!
