Amazingly, yes he was.
Pagey on lead alongside him helped considerably- but I have seen at least one piccy on this here Net of him with guitar...lets see if I can find it and post it.
Cf. Him back on the drums- in the roof!- and Jonesy on keys at the Rockestra gig at the NEC in 1979. With Planty on rhythm guitar on that occasion given the stellar line-up...Macca on vox, of course.
The Zep did so much for charity- rarely mentioned now of course.

It was basically a beast of Alexis Korner, late and great blues giant- and man who gave Percy his first big break.
