That's the one, Leobloom. Why it's never been released on DVD, I'll never know.
Are you actually speaking english, or are you just making up words as you go along? I do that too...

Re: Ashes to Ashes
Having the 2 series box set of Life on Mars, I've picked up on dozens of errors such as a pristine sign announcing Manchester's highway in the Sky (Mancunian Way) coming soon - it was in fact opened in 1967 - so I expect many similar errors in Ashes to Ashes. One seen already is the IBM PC - which was not launched until August 1981.
It remains to be seen if the plot scenario will stand the carry over and further development but the caricature that is Gene Hunt is both funny in retrospect and a reasonably accurate portrayal of the times before PC was a widely used abbreviation for either a computer or politically correct.

Re: Ashes to Ashes
The clever thing is that they are not really in 1981 at all, it is an illusion inside Keeley Hawes's head. So they can explain away any anachronisms by saying that this is how a woman in a coma in 2008 thinks things may have been in 1981. Having said that, I doubt it will be as good as Life on Mars, though still worth a watch. At least it's not another sodding CSI spin off.
Re: Ashes to Ashes
Has the 81 riots been mentioned yet?
Re: Ashes to Ashes
First Life on Mars, now Ashes to Ashes.Any chance of the producer being a massive Bowie fan?
Would likw to see him do one called China Girl.

I thoguht it took a while to get going,at first I didnt like it but after a while i got into it.
Yes there are some things that are wrong,The police wouldnt have had a cortina 2.0 ghia as a marked car,it prob would have been a GL or L model.also they prob would have had an escort as a panda car.
Yes the audi is wrong,it looks like its a 83 or 84 model to me?
I didnt think walkmans came out in 81?
So as the 80's angle goes there are things wrong all over the place, sombody at the beeb didnt do the reserach very well, prob a poxy media studies student who used the internet to get the info.
I liked Genes line when he was looking at the bied and said"you in leather with that gun...gives me the horn!"
Also why is it set in london ? yes it was explained in the prog but I think it would have been better set up north.(no im not a northener)
(yes sam and warren there are spelling mistakes)
