As a 360 owner, I don't really know the phenomenon of which you speak........ but, to keep your system in good nick, use an intercooler on the back as it's three additional fans prevents the dreaded sceptre of overheating kicking in. It's kept my 360 'good'. Aaaaaaaw.
Can anyonbe elaborate on these morbid 'red lights of death' for me? Ta.

Im encouraged by the amount of folks that only had to go one week without Xbox. Sounds like Microsoft have a great support service. I do hope they keep me up to date.
Fudgeflaps - The infamous red rings of death are when you turn on your console and instead of being greeted by a lovely green flashing light you get the menacing red lighs eeeks. Usually this means a hardware fault inside the console or best case scenario you have some loose leads. Its a terrible feeling! lol

Yeah, had them- wasn't too worried, though, it tends to be a loose power supply lead.
