Jools Holland did'nt join them when they re-grouped for their UK tour in 2007 as he was busy with his own TV show on BBC2 and various media projects.Would of been great to of seen Jools perform with the rest of the lads, whiskey glass on top of his piano as well.
The band did go downhill round about the mid to late 80's.'Hourglass' was'nt that bad but the other songs they did went off the boil.
Like i said, their recent concert at Hammersmith was excellent. They did all the ol favourites, 'Take me i'm you'rs','Goodbye Girl',Another Nail For my Heart','Pulling Mussels'(from the shell) and the classic 'Up The Junction'
Squeeze-tastic baby !thumbsup!

PEOPLE think Stephen Hawking is so clever, but when you ask him a question and he is typing in the answer on his little screen, how do we know he isn't just looking up the answer on the Internet?

Re: Squeeze
One of the many bands I booked at UEA between 1979 and 1981. They were excellent, though when they played during freshers week in 1980, Jools Holland had by then been replaced by Paul Carrack.
For me their last decent single was "Black Coffee in Bed" released in 1982, though I don't think it even made the top 40. After that they went downhill.
I went to see Glenn Tilbrook & The Fluffers play at the Jazz Cafe in Camden about 15/18 months ago... good stuff, too.
For those of you lucky enough to have bought tickets in advance, Squeeze are playing at the Riga Music Bar, Southend next Monday.
