She had a major impact on the country, without a doubt. Curbed the powers of the unions, but on the negative side helped destroy whole communities, sold off a fair old whack of the family silver, squandered billions in oil revenues, made it fashionable to be greedy, and infamously stated there was no longer any such thing as society. She certainly gave birth to the social situation we find ourselves in.
