I've got no problem with people that are 'self made rich',it's when they get greedy that pisses me off.

Cunts with two cars or houses, when they only really need one.In other words, cunts from the 'Thatcherite' era who thought it's cool to be greedy and the 'greed is good' culture'.

They have no respect or regard to proper working class folk.So out of touch with reality, they seem to think everything in this world is rosy.

i bet the likes of emily82,who i'll wager my ?2,000 a month wages that she's a Thatcherite herself or should i say influenced by Thatcherism as when she was born,Thatcher was well under way running........sorry,ruining our country !whistle!

I'll also hazard a wild guess that emily82 thinks it's ok to pay a footballer ?130,000 a month.

Contrary to what Gordon Gekko said, greed is not good, and greed definetley does not work, especially when one treads on toes and mugs off the public to fulfill their achievements.

It doesnt matter what anyone says here. Some folks are quick to suck on a dick with the owner looking down at them in disgust for how low people are prepared to sink for that respect to the pound sign.

Where I came from, people flouting off their money in this way with complete utter disregard would simply just get robbed.

Law of the jungle in some parts.

A rich smart man is like a gangster. Everyone knows who they are or by the way they dress and carry themselves but the key is to never play on it.

If these rich "celebrity" types really really cared about tackling poverty then why don't they ask to pay significant increases in their taxes?

Call me a socialist cunt if one wants to,but i can't stand greedy people and those that chuck it in one's face.

Then again,i was born in the 1970's and was wise enough not to let Thatcher brainwash me.

Footballers, well brought up Mike. The money they earn is disgusting and their wages should be structured more acurately. That might then help bring down the horrendous cost of watching them down to an affordable level for the real folk like who started most of the clubs (working guys with a talent) in the first place. I don't really blame the players because I nearly made it as a pro (probably only lower league and thus lower money). I blame the idiots that are prepared to pay them these amounts. Funny innit the same idiot that paid the ?100,000 for three charity tickets. Explains a lot really !

Good post Dave

It was Thatcher and her Tory cronies that caused the rise in the cost of watching football by introducing all seater stadia and CCTV making stadiums more fasionable, thus the emergence of the 'prawn sandwich brigade' and middleclass cunts that don't know the first thing about their clubs and their History.

This led to the birth of the premiership, funded by Sky TV,owned by Rupert Murdoch, another greedy cunt born out of Thatcherism.

Reason why we have so many overpaid footballers.
Would'nt make any difference if working class,'die hard' football fans (like myself) withdrew our season tickets. It would only fall into the hands of the middleclass fairweather fan.And over my dead body if i'm letting that happen.

I agree with you on a few points there, emily, but it is horrendously naive to think that in all cases hard work = lots of money. As you know, there are toiling grafters at the lower end of the wage scale that don't receive a salary commensurate with their hard work, as opposed to the fat-cat company director, who has inherited his trappings from 'Daddy' (ie, the guy that done all the hard work) who sits on his arse all day and rakes it in.

I'm all for human endeavour, entrepreneurial spirit, and being ambitious and creative to get ahead ---- look at msrs 'moneysupermarket.com', 'gocompare.com', 'google.com', 'youtube.com' et al ---- but proper wealth seems to be a matter of vision and TIMING (spotting that gap in the market first), allied to hard work, faith in your vision and weathering the financial uncertainties/ storms

To quote your good self, : "Should wealth be redistributed to give the people who've never worked a day in their lives good fortune?"

No, I'm not a bitter commie etc- if someone has earned their wealth and vast riches through their own ingenuity, fantastic. However, a lot of this wealth IS being redistributed to "the people who've never worked a day in their lives" -- check the dictionary under 'socialite' and 'IT-girl', ie TPT, Paris Stilton, Tamara Beckwith etc......... pompous, silver-spooned arseholes who have INHERITED are those most of us dislike.

NOT being bitter and jealous of deserved wealth, I agree with Dave's posting about these rich twats- The Apprentice, on prime-time BBC, was a perfect opportunity to flaunt it openly, whilst appearing to be 'such a nice person' as it was for charidee. Win-win.

However, I think he was having a go at the rich TWATS (the undeserving, the inheritors, the Paris Hiltons, the grossly overpaid for what they do) instead of the plain ol' RICH, who have used their acumen to justify their riches.

"My argument is simply that it's harsh to frown upon those who have achieved results financially in life."

It is- I don't though, I like to see what makes these people tick. I frown upon the spoiled, uncultured, attention-seeking and unworldly offspring who are up their own arses having been born into ready millions.

"and if people choose to work hard and do well - then they are deserving."

Doing well is relative- from the nice home and car through to becoming a billionaire. We can all choose to work hard....... doing well isn't really a matter of CHOICE, IMO- it goes for you, or it doesn't (where you take stock and go in a different direction); a very difficult trial-and-error, cause-and-effect process, where you have to tweak your plans and aspirations with the inevitable setback.

A great book on this mad stuff is Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich".

!happy!

Emily lives in that world where hardworking taxpayers like my goodself are worthless and have no place in society, while Charlatans like Paris Hilton have the right to be admired and are entitled to their riches.

And no Emily,i'm not claiming the world owes me a living.I work for my living, and i'm proud of it.

Thank god i don't have to cater for women like Emily. on ?2,000 a month i still could'nt handle her needs !laugh!.
