Strictly speaking repairs aren't free... why do you think they charge ?40.00 a month for a 37" TV? If you never need to call them out, you're actually paying over the odds and subsidising those that do have their sets repaired/replaced.
With regard to Ash's query, just because both sets of speakers on his two differently sized Samsung TVs have similar specifications doesn't mean they'll sound the same. Firstly they may have been manufactured differently. The casing of the whole TV will have an impact, as will the placing of the speakers and their direction. Where the TV is placed in a room will also affect the sound quality.
Having said that, if the sound is distorted when using the TV speakers, but fine when relayed through a home cinema system, then that would suggest something wrong with the speakers. Some TV speakers lack punch (and that's why you should go to a proper Hi-Fi/TV showroom rather than Currys/Dixons etc to test), but none should sound distorted all the way through the volume range.
Ash... did you test the set out in a dedicated demo room before buying? If so, is there a marked difference in the sound quality between the tested set and the one you have at home. When the set was delivered, did they also install and test it? If you bought from a "proper" Hi-Fi shop they would have set everythuing up for you and not left until you were happy.
