If there is one boxer who can destroy Hopkins, it's Calzaghe. And he knows it.

Calzaghe will win no doubt about that, Hopkins is saying its the last fight of his career, deep down he knows whats going to happen in the fight.

About Calzaghe, I agree, was he ever really tested? Lacey has been exposed since the that fight as not the fighter people thought he was, Brewer was way past his prime, Mitchell, a decent fighter, gave him a scare, Weit is a joke fighter. Kessler was an overated fighter too, a good victory yes, but not great.

Hes beat whos been put in front of him yes, but I dunno, what needed to happen was somebody to take the fight to him, which has hardly ever happened, and when it did, ie Mitchell, he ended up on his ass, although he did get back up to win.

To me at the last Rikky Hatton fight Calzaghe looked absolutely petrified of Hopkins (at the weigh in) and I take Hopkins to end Calzaghe's career I am sorry to say.
Calzaghe has lost his blinding speed and punch power and the last 3 or 4 fights he has won with his ring craft and slick defence - but against Hopkins that will NOT be near good enough.

It is the same ref that screwed up the Hatton fight against Mayweather!

I wondered who else thought that.....I know I did when I watched it at the time, Joe just laughed it off, albeit nervously.
In the good old days of Errol Christie and Mark Kaylor, they'd have had a scrap to test the waters so too speak.
Maybe Joe was just smirking to wind up Hopkins more, but I, for one, was hoping for some argy bargy that night

I think the move up to light heavyweight will make a for a stronger and more powerful Calzaghe. He's struggled to make 168lbs for years. Calzaghe to win on points.

A Calzaghe points win isnt really good enough for anyone who wants to be talked of as a great. This is an old man he is fighting and one that does not have the power to trouble Joe. He must knock this guy out for any cred.

The boxing public know this isnt a great fight hence $350 tickets on ebay right now for ?100.
