Some of my family watched part 1 on Sunday night and I happened to be in the room for some of it. IT WAS AWFUL.

I got the impression the script was written by the 11 year old daughter of the producer.

So many bad bits I hardly know where to start, but probably the silliest bit was...........

Tom Courtney, Robert Carlyle and a lady are standing on a huge solid structure in the middle of the Thames (the Thames barrier !!) .

A massive wave comes down the river and "bursts" over the Thames barrier.

Rober Carlyle tries to convince them they are SAFER jumping into the Thames (which is a raging torrent) than staying where they are on this massive solid object many feet above the river.

He convinces the lady and they decide to jump. They would not last 5 minutes in the water, but they do.

And that point I thought "what a load of fucking crap" and gave up.

Come to think of it, AWFUL is not a strong enough description.

Have to agree...dire script, laughable plot (how do they all get signal on their phones for so long??) and a terrible re-hash of every clich?d disaster movie. Joanna Whalley looked good, mind.

We video-ed it (so that we don't have to endure all the ads), but having read all the dire comments about it (not just here) it sounds like a complete pile of pants.

Hardly anyone anywhere seems to have a good word to say about it.

Still - going to give it a go to make our own minds up.

I actually rented the DVD when it first came out, so my expectations were quite high. If you see it on TV, set against all the other total SHYTE it might not seem so bad.

You're lucky you only rented it Jim - I went and bought it when it first came out on dvd!!!

Sat down with my two eldest boys who absolutely love action/disaster films and with dips and crisps looked forward to a couple of hours of viewing pleasure.

OMG!! - We just kept saying "It must get better, surely!!" and carried on watching to the dire end - thus officially wasting a couple of hours of our lives!!
