THERE were violent scenes BEFORE the UEFA Cup Final as Rangers

But despite the widespread condemnation of the Rangers fans, Pc Regan said many of the supporters he came across were "as good as gold".
Pc Regan told the BBC he felt alcohol was the cause of the biggest problems, especially among the hardcore who caused the trouble.
"Those particular people were just out to cause harm to any police officer. It could have been me - it could have been anybody," he added.
Bit of a n brainer isnt it
200,000 fans plus alcohol & boredom = trouble
Interesting above that the hardcore element rise to the top again
Hooligans disguised as fans.I wonder what percentage of the massive crowd actually went on the rampage

The majority of the fans were good as gold and decent law abiding fans, but you always get the hardcore element tagging along intent to cause aggro.
I think some of the 'ethnic minority' shops should hold their hands up charging ?25+ for a case of beer than normally sells at a tenner. No wonder some people got irate!

Erm surely you mean "ethnic majority" Ace ... looks like all the balloons from a certain part of Glasgow and surrounding areas fancied a wee piss-up before T In The Park this year. It does annoy me that Rangers claim that these are people not attached or associated with the club and basically have nothing to do with them - not the way to bring the club into the 21st Century with that sort of patter I am afraid.
