The current plot is particularly far fetched. Poor old Sgt Smith has been put undercover to smash an arms network on his own patch. What are the chances a criminal would recognise him? It's just nonsense, and a moment's thought shows it could never happen.
Anyway, the Sun Hill plod don't have to try too hard to catch crims these days. There's always CCTV (Sun Hill must have most of these 14 million cameras we hear about), and they run the pictures through "facial recognition" and get their man. However did they manage in the olden days?
