But my point still stands: You can't just have virtually uncontrolled immigration to the point where even the government doesn't know who's in and who's out any more - which is the situation as it currently stands.
In fact, the government is even waking up to this fact now (albeit belatedly) if that minister's words last week are anything to go by - "it won't be as easy to enter the UK as it once was", and talk of capping the population at 70 million tops (though to what extent that will actually be do-able in practice is debatable).
And also, it IS a disgrace that the vast sums of taxpayers' money being spent to house and look after all these migrants (most of whom are economic migrants as opposed to genuine political refugees) isn't instead being used to ease the burden on low-income British families.
But sadly, politicians for some reason think it's 'sexier' to extend a warm welcome to "foreign nationals" than it is to heat the homes of war veterans in places like Scunthorpe or Stockport - and as long as that's the case, we'll continue to have millions of low-income families in fuel poverty and struggling to pay their bills.
As I said above: Get your own house in order first.
