You could say that about anybody though.
I had a brilliant day last week, got loads done made some good desicions, but Tuesday was a fucker, slept in made a couple of mistakes.
It doesn't make me bipolar.

He tended to come unstuck when he got bogged down in the details instead of letting the professionals do the job. Grand strategy generally good, ( insisting on a joint US-UK 'Germany First' stratagy, delaying D-Day til 6/44 - both good), though often not so good (reinforcing the lost cause that was Singapore by sending the Prince of Wales and the Repulse to be sunk by Japanese air power, and thinking that Germany could be defeated by attacking the 'soft underbelly' of the Balkans and Italy), whereas his micro-management was often fundamental in eventual success (sacking Aukinleck and sending Monty out to the desert for instance).
