Now that the real killer has been unmasked Sholdn't "Lizzie" hand over her compo for the "stress" she went through? In retrospect she was in no danger in Mr Stagg's company!

Of course you feel sympathy for Rachel Nickell's parents, but no-one seemed interested in an 'impact statement' from Colin Stagg on Thursday. Why should the Met's apology to him have been described as 'humiliating' ? If an institution took 13 months of your life from you and put you through a longtime hell shouldn't you be entitled to an apology ? At no time during the unfolding of the case has the media backtracked and presented him as innocent. It's always suited them that he be tainted by suspicion and that his feelings, his anonymity etc don't matter anywhere near as much as those of Mr and Mrs Nickell.

The parents were victims only in so much as they were played like fiddles by a corrupt police force & a media with it's own agenda - one of the most distasteful aspects of modern life is that 'victims' are (to the benefit of the legal profession, the police & the media) taught and encouraged to be grudgeful and bitter, when they (their health and well-being) would benefit a lot more with forgiveness, understanding & love
