and you can almost guarantee that the BNP will be heading to Lincolnshire to 'support the workers' and in turn will receive more support for themselves.

Interesting comments there. I think the BNP, as they are a legitimate political party, who have a mandate from the people, should be viewed like another other party. It is wrong I think for people to be able to legally vote for them, but illegal for some people to be a member, and to also have the weight of the other three political parties, and the media, combined working against the BNP in very perculiar ways. Shouldn't they just be defeated at the ballot box like any other party? If they are such fiends (and they may well be) why are they not banned?

Did you know that the BNP guy, who has a seat on the London Assembly, got more votes than was the differnce between what Boris Johnson got over Ken Livingstone? Boris got 100,000 more votes than Ken, and that was sufficient for Boris to win. The BNP guy got 120,000 votes and we are told that that number counts for nothing and the guy should be ignored and not seen as a credible politican entity. When he got up to make his accpetance speech at the London Assembly, everyone on the podium - Boris Johnson and the Labour and Lib Dem people - all walked out. Funny how Boris sees 100,000 votes for himself as being a very significant thing, and he happily takes the job that those extra votes got him, yet he sees 120,000 votes in the case of the BNP guy as nothing that should matter. The BNP guy has a mandate from the people and should be listened to like anyone else. That is democracy.

On the question of racism, it seems that no matter what the BNP say, everyone will view them as racists. If they are then I condemn them, if they are a changed party, like they claim, then maybe that should be listened to aswell. If all they are nowadays doing is standing up for the indigeonous culture, ways, traditions, language, and heritage, of the British people - when the main 3 parties couldn't give a damn and are happy to grovel to minorites, then I don't see anything wrong with them existing and having seats and influence. If they still are a racist bigoted outfit - racism means treating someone negatively or excluding them solely because of their colour, creed, race, or religion, then I absolutely condemn them and would view them as extremely bad people.

Like the Black Police Officers Association does, interestingly enough, without fear of censure.

Double standards?

peter. yes, exactly. It's double standards like that which push people to consider voting for the BNP.

Just like Hitler in 1933 then?

I'd cancel the Israeli sunshine break if I were you, Max.

Heavy as hell, mate.

Which, funnily enough, we would all be heading for in a handcart if either the Nazis or the Trots formed a government.

As long as he's beating up all criminals, irrespective of colour, it's ok.

Fine. As legitimate a political party as the big 3. All parties ahve good and bad policies. Apart from the Lib Dems who would sh$t themselves if they ever got into power.

andy, what you say there has happened. I saw in the TV news today that a BNP person has headed up there and was giving out leaflets. The striking workers have all said they are not, politically, on the same wave length as this guy.
