Terry, yet again you seem to have misread things. I am and never have been 'anti' porn. I 'stick it out' because I love the idea of the business and generally the people in it.
I have no wish to leave the UK porn business at all but if it doesn't want me in it there ain't a lot of choice is there. I am tired of looking for work in porn that simply isn't there ! I am a workaholic for porn but if there isn't any, then I have to find alternatives and getting a proper job here doesn't seem to exist.
I am too old for Canada, USA, OZ or NZ and would never get a permanent visa to live and work so I need to find somewhere where I can go.

In any other industry, after 26 years, you would have an extensive list of contacts that could be relied on to pass on work when things were not going well.

I learnt a few years ago, that the only way to succeed or in fact survive, was to be completely independent of everyone within the porn industry. At best they will exclude or not mention, if there is an opportunity that would benefit you and at worst back-stab you enough to ensure you never get an opening.

I have personally been a victim of severe back-stabbing over the years, from people I stupidly had thought were "Friends". This in itself, I don't actually give a toss about. The bad thing is that these same people, I'd actually introduced to lucrative work and as a result of their nastiness, I, in return, lost work that would have been useful when things were going tits up for me a few years ago.

Luckily for me, the one or two UK based people I still trust, are the same people that have supported me all along, the rest are European.

So the lesson is: Keep yourself to yourself and expect no help from anybody!

Sounds like you are describing yourself there Jim. You have now successfully transformed yourself into what you have described.

Just because others havebeen that way to you is no reason to become like that yourself.

For all your colourful prose and palying to your audience I cant help but feel you are exactly as you describe the industry. What makes you any better?

Your insuation that I have, or are, behaving in this way is unfounded I'm afraid Terry. But the truth is over the last 10 years I have been the victim of some real back-stabbing shit, that has cost me alot of jobs and money. All this from so called"Friends".

This is their modus operandi:

1/ Befriend you.
2/ You then introduce them to a client to help you on a job.
3/ They then back-stab you to the client to entrench their position.
4/ You are then dropped by the client, your "Friend" gets the job and installs his own mates into key positions.

I have never behaved like this to anybody. By the way, I am employing a number of people at the moment, for editing and camerawork. These people I trust.

Everything is going great guns now, since I am now fussier and more cautious with whom I befriend. What's wrong with that?

As for the back stabbing part...Weell? I think you may have had a bad history of it happening to you why you cant see it when you have become like those same said people you are talking about.

My claims are certainly not unfounded Jim because youve done it already and many share the same view.

If you dont know what we are talking about then you need not concern yourself any further because if you were concerned you wouldnt have done it in the first place.
