Why should we bill any foreign country? We are the ones who invited them here. Brown needed to raise his world profile and make pretend he's important.

Today's protests were pretty pathetic - they couldn't even organise a proper riot.

What will be interesting is how many other countries security will be armed. Ex Met officer I knew said they were not allowing any foreigner to walk around London tooled up. However the Israelis said bollox to this and nobody chastised them so I can imagine the Secret Service men having enough firepower to take out an entire army of mung bean eating hippies.
One rule for them and 7 years inside for the rest of us if we feel the need to own a handgun for protection.

This afternoon I took a stroll through Regent's Park and there are Police everywhere. The US ambassador's huge garden has 12 foot tall metal fencing all round it and there are lots of Police along it. The road along the front of the house is closed and full of Police vehicles and Police officers. All the concrete blocks are there in lines to stop any vehicles getting anywhere near the house. So Barack is staying there for a third night it seems. I wonder if he will be there tomorrow night aswell.
