Be worried, in the last 3 local elections where I live they took a hefty number of votes off an Asian councillor and nearly deposed a 20 year standing Lib Dem. They are getting stronger as the economy slides. I predict they will have an MP in the next 3 years.

The trouble OEJ is that the majority who vote for them now care little about history they are very much here and now what's affecting me people.

Things like the hierarchy of the BNP thinking the War Dead were traitors to this country means nothing to them or worse is tolerated as price they are willing to pay to have their here and now issues dealt with.

While most stupidly choose just not to vote as a sign to the politicians these people are voting and in turn having their voices heard.

I think I'll vote BNP or for another party if they're more extreme. Not particularly because I like them, but it's something that needs to be done to get the other complacent halfwits to sit up and listen to the complaints of the ordinary people.

Johnny,how exactly would the BNP listen to the concerns of the ordinary man or woman? The first thing they would if they ever got power(which they wont thank god) is ship every coloured person off these shores(after giving them a good kicking first). They would dismantle the welfare state,disabled people would be left to rot. Don't believe all this garbage about them helping out pensioners,their core belief is hard right wing hitler loving survival of the fittest. If they ever got power this would be Nazi Britain.

It`s sensationalism and fearmongering. News shows have been constantly trying to say that the government have more time for minorities and illegal immigrants and asylumm seekers. It is scary though, whatever happens labours out at the next election. A lot of people don`t trust the Tories so they`re turning to extremist arseholes. I mean jesus the pricks here in Scotland voted the fucking SNP in, though most of the country went off the idea of independance when it was pointed out that it`d affect their benefits.

Italy has had a fascist party for years, Le Pen got millions of votes in France and neither of them set up gas chambers or mass deportation programs. Personally the current Labour government is more repulsive than any minority party, they are neo-conservatives disguised as socialists.
I know many disgruntled, educated, civilised, hard working people who are voting for the BNP as they are sick of the main parties. We live in a democratic society, even if McBroon is trying his best to dismantle it and free elections and the right to vote for who you want is part of our heritage. If you want BNP banned then I'll ban Nu Labour.

They wouldn't do anything for the ordinary person, but they'll never get to power so that's not a concern. Voting for them will rob mainly NL of votes, handing marginal seats to the Conservatives or Liberals. You could just vote Conservatives or Liberal, but when the votes are shared between the traditional parties they're just disappointed to lose, but when radical parties start to get a sizeable minority of votes it actually scares the main parties and forces change that otherwise wouldn't be forthcoming. So in my view voting for the BNP does serve a purpose, if enough people do it.

Because our electoral system is not proportional representration, voting for who you don't like is sometimes the best alternative available.
