I dont think there is such a thing as running out of ideas.

I wouldnt mind Hollywood making some interesting stories that didnt involve some off duty cop flying an F15 Harrier and launching police cars into helicopters (though I did enjoy Die Hard 4 which was a bit overblown for the series in my opinion )

Some remakes have been pretty good and worhtwhile, like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the recent Friday The 13th. ( inever saw a movie in that series until I saw the remake and remakes are made only because a lot of todays audiences regard the classics (cult or otherwise) as being old whichis why they are remade.

I thought Scorceses remake of Cape Fear was great.

Not a re-make?

Same title, same story (more or less), some of the characters have the same names in both films for f*cks sake.

That looks, sounds and smells like a re-make to me.

Mind you if I was I was Tony Scott and I?d just made that pile of shit, I think I?d be going round saying ?of course it?s not a re-make?.

Why would anyone want to re-make ?The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three? in the first place?

When you pick such a terrific original film to re-make, you?re going to have to make one hell of a good film to better the original. And no-way is Tony Scott's re-make anywhere near what you could call a good film!

No wonder he doesn?t want people to compare them and he?s going round saying ?of course it?s not a re-make!?

The original was called ?The Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three?.

The Tony Scott pile of poo is called ?The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3?.

Is he saying ?it?s got a different title ? so it?s not a re-make? as part of his defence?
