The appeal process would probably have taken longer than he has left to live ,(and I dont think the 'Earnest Saunders miracle recovery' will happen in this case), and would have delayed his return home to Libya.

Definitely not without....

I have no problem with the concept of compassion for a man who apparently does not have long to live. However, what about compassion for the family and friends of PC Yvonne Fletcher? She was killed in 1984 by gunfire coming from the Libyan embassy during a small demonstration. No-one has ever been charged for this cold-blooded murder. The Scottish Justice Minister should have taken the line with the Libyans that we are prepared to show compassion for Al Megrahi if in return, the Libyans give up the individual(s) responsible for her death.

It's official - Gordy's both "angry and repulsed" at the scenes of jubilation in Tripoli, Gadaffi must surely be reeling at the news...

Be interesting to see if the twatt makes a miraculous recovery won't it.
3 months, yeh right. Let's see if he makes Crimbo.
If any body thinks that this twatt was released on compasionate grounds they really are living on another planet. He was let out so that the UK would get survey rights to the oil reserves under the Libyan desert. If that Jock one eyed idiot and his tame Jock spokesman were to tell the truth then I suspect that not a lot of people would care tuppence, except the Yanks, but if it upsets them then perhaps it aint a bad thing after all.

Well, yes.
I'm sure the MSPs were horrified at the 'homecoming'. They'd
asked beforehand for 'tact' and were gravely disappointed.
This idiocy will do Libya's image little good in the long-term.

The only comfort I can offer is that we've now twice in one week
shown ourselves to be vastly morally superior to the Arab world.

I don't think he's a Christian Rodders so Christmas won't be a marker for him.

Politics is a dirty business. It's absurd when people like Milliband describe motives attributed to the government as 'deeply offensive' .. why would they be offensive ? We're not really dealing with men of principle. He's called an opportunist and he hasn't the balls to admit that's what he (and others like him) are ... or he's naive in thinking their behaviour won't appear that way.
