his current wife is the absolutely beautiful Elena Poulou "Smith" she is stunning, but apparantly in her late 30's, though she certainly doesn't look it! They met in Germany though Elena is Greek,

though i think the mention of Brix, would still wind up Mark E. would love to have a chat with him in a pub, but he hates talking about the Fall, so i'd have no idea what i would say!

Love a spot of The Fall myself.

Blindness is one of my all time fave tracks and that's coming from a die hard old school hiphop fan.

He played at The Point in Cardiff Bay last year and was totally uninterested in being there, which was a shame. I'd still go and watch again though, the miserable old twat :)

Cracking band. Always thought '$500 Bottle of Wine' could've been a hit if Smith hadn't sworn at the end.

And Smith talking live via a link-up to Newsnight's Gavin Esler concerning the death of John Peel was absolutely priceless.

"Are you the new dj?"

Esler looked utterly bewildered.

"Let's do it..."

There's a ton of great Fall tracks. All the ones everyone knows like Bingo Masters Breakout and the ones people don't like High Tension Line and White Lightning. It's not an original observation, but he's the English Capt Beefheart.

He wasn't interested in The Beatles, liked Amon Dull, Velvets and whatnot. It's just a different journey.

I love the Fall! I've not seen them for years but one of the best gigs I ever went to was about 1984 at the Surbiton Assembley Rooms.

Thats a great shout! The English Captain Beefheart!

I'm sorry about your gig Mr Mark, the Fall are a blinding live band, but certain things seem to piss Mark E. off, be it the venue, the dressing rooms or the dreaded Security!!! "Is your security area secure?" and sometimes this makes him seem disinterested

To be fair they were playing in a converted spooky church, that stank of booze and in which you could barely swing a cat.

I wouldn't have put in my best performance either! :)

That sounds just like Mark E Smith's kind of place!
