Remember that Britain is already the most watched country in the world. Where are we going to draw the line?

I agree. The current call for the use of full body scanners in all UK airports is a knee jerk reaction to the spin coming out of America over the attempted bombing of their flight.

The scanners or lack of them in UK airports have no bearing on the current "Crisis".
Remember the bomber was denied entry to the UK, then was granted a Visa by the American Embassy in London while being on an American watch list.

I would also like to add that these scanners, if installed in all UK airports will not stay exclusive to airport use for long, further chipping away at our personal privacy.
The European parliament itself has mothballed six scanners they had intended to use in Brussels and Strasbourg while they are being fully looked into. So they are already moving out of airports before everyone is using them.

Not at all. Terrorism is not bound by racial profiling.

Who s to say some nutter BNP fanatic wouldnt bring down a jet and have the media think its the muslims just to start trouble.

Muslims do not all look alike. Many happen to be white also.

In short, not so much common sense as you would think.

If families were the soft option and was a cold hearted terrorist thinking they were dying for the cause then a bomb would be planted on them unwittingly knowing it was going to do its job.

A terrorists way of thinking is they were going to die anyway so whats the difference not using them?

You have a group of 100 men with beer bellies and T shirts saying ?I love Tenerife?. You have a group of 100 men in full Arabic gear, carrying a copy of the Quran . You reckon there is the same probability that one of each group could be a terrorist?
