Once saw a girl at a rock concert who had the entire buttocks cut off her shorts, so all that was left was the seam running down the middle, a sort of denim g-string. Maybe you could do that?

Hey Deano.
What are the girls in Kalgoorlie wearing now?
I remember many years ago they used to wear something very similar to these shorts, that's when they sat out on their front venanda secure behind a high chicken wire fence that was interwoven with barbed wire and fairy lights.
Fond memories of the outback.

"The Street" as it is referred to, is still in business although Kalgoorlie actually has quite a few families living there these days. But fly-in-fly-out workers are still common around that area and those guys are probably the main source of customers for the girls. I'm not sure what the girls wear to attract attention lately, but given that enthusiastic amateurs dress like porn stars, it must be hard to compete!
I'll tell you a quick story, and for those who don't know - Kalgoorlie is a mining town several hundred miles east of Perth and has a brothel which is unofficially legal in a state where back then, prostitution was against the law.
In 1974, I was 14 and I went with my parents on a short trip through Kalgoorlie and surrounding areas. Part of my education was a drive down the brothel street as it is actually a tourist attraction anyway. I knew what was going on because there were all these 'girls' (they looked old to me at the time) standing outside their crude corrugated tin cubicles waiting for customers. So I said (in all seriousness) "But dad, don't the police know it's here?" Without batting an eyelid, dad sarcastically replied "No son, they've no idea it's here. Keep it a secret." He then proceeded to piss himself laughing while mum gently explained that the police only turn up to sort out unruly customers.

Thanks for the pic Sparky. Well, not quite THAT short, but heading that way.
Although my original post is now 9 months old, we've been through a cold (for Perth) winter we just had the first warm weekend of Spring last week and the long legs are back. This time there seems to be a trend towards very tight fitting mini-dresses that grip round a lady's bum like a randy foot baller's hands. With stiletto shoes, the effect is amazing. I found myself walking in the opposite direction from my intended destination several times.
