The ad may be awful but at least you remember it. It means you are aware of the company and what they sell. It's made them stand out in the crowd, it doesn't matter if the add was good or bad, it's made you notice, surely what advertising is all about.

I sort of agree with that- you find yourself walking along humming the go compare or compare the meerkats. . . . . the twats on the confused advert I wouldn't tire of slapping them.

and foe the halifax advert- there's always the mute button

In the worst advert category I would have to put the new Gillette advert where the mechanic performs an M.O.T. on the blokes Gillette Fusion Razor ... 1 part hilarious and 99 parts pish.!wink!

All very true, but it's the number who notice that count. The gold standard is when an ad/campaign enters the collective awareness ("Calm down....it's only a commercial," etc). This thread alone proves Halifax have done that.

I'd forgotten about the Cadbury Smash adverts.

Bugger, I'm going to have to think about revising my favourite now.
