Biased against Cameron? He got the last word on just about every question. What would have made you happy? Alistair tie blue ribbons in his hair while noshing Cameron off?

To be fair I don't think many people take much notice of Lib Dem policies and the like so I guess it was easy for Clegg to surprise, and thus impress, a lot of people.

Why the fuck did Cameron bother turning up when he can't tell anyone what he's going to do if he gets in? The 'airbrushing' joke was funny though. Well done Gordon.

Still the Lib Dems for me, though.

Clegg's problem now is that people will look at his policies, such as ditching the UK's nuclear deterrent, which will make him look very left wing and a bit daft perhaps.

As was said last night, it would be stupid to give up nuclear weapons when other states such as Iran are trying to obtain them.

I like Clegg and if he makes it harder for the Tories to get in, by strengthening his own support in seats they would have to take from Lib Dems to form a majority, all well and good.

I agree to an extent. The extra publicity will mean extra scrutiny.

As for trident, I'm in part agreement with him. If Iran does acquire nuclear weaponry they still need the rocket and targeting technology to reach us. Then there's the rumour over who actually has the launch codes: us or the USA?

?100billion and we still have to go cap in hand to ask for permission to use them. I do think that's taking the piss just a little. Again, I'm only partly agreeing with Clegg. To not update our nuclear deterrent at all would be a little foolhardy. Maybe a compromise?

I'm a very old sod who voted for Michael Foot, when we (Labour) had the unilateral disarmament policy. I was 19 and a bit daft but at heart I'd still rather not have to have nukes. It doesn't make any sense to get rid of them now though, and if they need upgrading/replacing that's just our bad luck really. I'd rather have them than not thesedays.

Clegg's other big problem is another policy that, as a Socialist at heart, I like but it's one he cant afford to implement. The ?10 000 tax threshold would be fantastic for the poorer people in our society. Getting rid of the 10p tax band for the low paid that they introduced was one of Labour's big mistakes, in my opinion.

It's going to be an interesting election for a change. A poll tonight shows that the Lib Dems are taking votes away from the Tories, so let's hope that trend continues, although I think Cameron will really go after Clegg as time goes on if he stays popular.
