You may be right, given their previous relationship at West Ham. If Cole goes, though, I'll be sad.

Looks like Walcott has been left out... less of a surprise (given his inability to cross a ball) than his inclusion 4 years ago! Looks like King can also start planning his holidays elsewhere.

Not sure what time everything is officially announced.

How long before Walcott thinks that playing for Arsenal is holding him back, I wonder. I'm an Arsenal fan and he's the closest thing we've got to Thierry Henry thesedays, but he's playing the wrong position in the wrong team. Get him to a side that plays fast attacking football, with him through the middle, and he'll dramatically improve.

At least now I don't have to pretend to care about England, with its squad full of cunts.

Germany will win this.

Looks like the following is the squad from the rumours I'm hearing

GK: James, Green, Hart

D: Johnson, Carragher, Ferdinand, Terry, Upson, King, Ashley Cole, Warnock

M: Lennon, Wright-Phillips, Lampard, Gerrard, Carrick, Barry, Milner, Joe Cole

F: Rooney, Crouch, Defoe, Heskey

A lacklustre performance by Guilbert - only managed to identify 4 of the 7 discards.

Agree, but how mamy would have picked Walcott to be out, and Warnock to be in !

Where was your selection :-)

I got 4 right - Dawson, Parker, Adam Johnson and Huddlestone.

But I also said Warnock, Upson and Hesky would not go, and all 3 are in the squad.

It is Walcott, Baines and Bent who are not going.

I am staggered he is taking Warnock, Upson and Hesky when none of them played in the Mexico or Japan games. Maybe he was "certain" about Upson and Hesky so did not need to try them out.

Warnock though has hardly played for England so that is a surprise over Baines.

Walcott is a big surprise as I though he was a certainty to go, I also though Baines would be second choice left back after Ashley Cole.

Bent not that much of a surprise as I dont think Capello has ever rated him.

I think he gave Baines all the chances he needed and he didn't do very well, but dropping him and taking an untried Warnock is dodgy. He's overloaded with centre backs as well.

I would have taken Walcott and not Wright-Phillips and I would have taken Bent and not Heskey.

Looking at our strikers, I just can't see any goals in the side at all from them if Rooney doesn't have a great tournament.

no doubt Beckham would have been in it had he not been injured. Basically, the same lot that failed 4 years ago. Walcotts omission such a shock sky were running it as their leading news item this afternoon!

Maybe Walcott not being picked was a shock to Sky, but to me it would have been a shock if he had been picked. Since his hat-trick he's done nothing of worth for England. What's the point of him having such speed and trickery if there's no "end product" like a goal or a decent pass/cross? When he's been in a scoring situation his lack of confidence has led to either a tame shot that is easily saved, or a wayward pass that is easily defended.
