Soz,the fortunes of the producers etc would never enter my head...are they a special case?.You pay to see Avatar and have concerns for Careron? It's a business and I'm a consumer. It's a market. There's enough porn out there already and only the very special will earn a good 'living' IMHO.

Yes, I think it mostly depends on how much work you put into it & getting the girls men want to see.

This is not a guarantee either as sometimes the person doing it or how they do it can be a put off too

If I wasnt making as living doing this I wouldnt be doing it full stop. Its how I make my living.

The real thing is to be able to work on a multitude of different levels. Just shooting porn isnt enough to make you a living. You have to edit it. market it and whole load of other things which is why it pisses me off when people make light of that by asking you to remove content you have paid for and by paying the value has just gone up on a shoot the moment you are on the road to shoot them.

When the shoots over and they are paid off, you are still working on it.

I'm still working on stuff that I started out with so when i say a movie is for life I mean exactly that.

Hobbyists just wouldnt get that

Things have quietened down a lot due to the recession & this does keeps producers on their toes with their content, years ago any suck & fuck sold because there were less people in the industry but now days customers can be choosy from the thousands of film companies out there. Its getting seen in the first place thats the hardest hence the widely advertised various niches we now see, we have always treated our film making as an hobby because it was & still is just a extension of our own swinging lifestyle.
Over our time in the industry we have known amateurs & pro producers who have made & lost fortunes but it depends on luck as well as hard work if you can make it work for vast profits, if you last longer than 5 years you have profitable material if not you simply vanish...never overspend on money you ain't got & work your way up to those big budget movies.

Kims Amateurs The original & still the best UK amateurs...often imitated never equalled

Making good porn is one thing. The key to getting it to people who want to buy it,is quite another.

Surely the best way to make money out of porn is to copy your mucky dvd's using dvdshrink, and sell em at car boot sales for a fiver each, or three for ?10. Works for me anyway! !drink!

Joanie Allum... selling old material

Post by Von Boy »

Well the Allum's, Joanie and John are selling via their site some very old classic sets... thats great business... selling sets that have been paid for years before...many times over...

I also like the window pop up that mentions that the models all signed a release form and allows the photographer full use for ever and ever... i bet some of the models from the mid 80's now have teenager kids surfing for porn.... "hey that looks like mum"!

Yep, John has spent the last 5 years odd scanning all their old stuff. Joanie has long retired from shooting for the 'Glam' mags and shoots mostly fashion portfolios in between trips to and from Spain and Manchester.

I acted as an agent for them from 95-05 and a pleasure it was.

Spoke to John yesterday. He said although he's glad he scanned them all it hasn't been very profitable !
