My apologies.
But why would the word Jock be removed? It is after all a most common word in our language, just as Taff or Paddy is. Or are you having a pop at some uptight arse somewhere?

And what happened to the Royal Tournament??!! another great event, something which I regularly got taken to as a child. fabulous. Then as I recall Health & Safety reared its ugly head and the gun race was deemed too risky as some chaps got hurt 1 year. So it stopped.
Fine to send them off to war though to get blown up and shot?
Where's Health & Safety then eh? eh? Hiding under a desk that's where!
(Possibly visitor number too but I don't know, it was always bunged when i went)

Good old Health and Safety.
Where I work a squad of men were stopped working in the pouring rain. The reason they were stopped ------- their waterproofs were not fire retardant.
Fair enough, the permit to work stated that only fire retardant clothing to be worn but how hard must it be to ignite wet waterproofs ?

The problem with Elf n Safety is that it has been usurped by a bunch of moronic arseholes.
I gained a qualification in H&S Management in 1986 and have used it in varying ways since. I am now an H&S Inspector for an Insurance company and I see the results of these wankers, so called professionals, a lot of the time. Most of the trouble stems from all of the councils in UK being given advice by their insurance services and Elf n Safety wankers which aims to protect the councils from law suits if a citizen should hurt themselves in their borough.
One idiot so called H&S expert told one of my clients that the runway tracks in his print works weren't subject to LOLER (Lift Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) as they didn't lift anything. I pointed out to my client that they did as they supported a trolly and block and tackle used to remove the print rollers from their machines. The print rollers weighing in the region of 125Kg to 250Kg. Runway tracks are an integral part of the lifting medium employed. This morons idea would be like saying a hook isn't subject to checks as it is static. The fact that workers at height hook on to safety hooks is discounted by this twatttt who charges a daily rate of ?250 to give this type of dangerous and stupid informatiion to unsuspecting clients.
My client was less than happy once I had appraised him of what equipment in his print works was subject to LOLER as the above wanker had fed him a load of shyte. Needless to say I marked his card and he ensures that he is not there when I visit to carry out my inspections. Fucking useless wanker!!

I'm aware of the Puwer and Loler regs, and we've recently changed lifting tackle inspectors.
I suspect that we will be shortly changing again as the new lot have condemned a large portion of our tackle. The inspector was staying in a local hotel frequented by some of my workmates and they had to avoid him as he was doped up to the eyeballs and getting paranoid. This scares me as he is supposed to be an "expert" and has he passed some things which are not fit for purpose ?
If I'm not happy with something I won't use it,regardless of what the tag says.
I carry out my own inspections.

Yes sorry I didn't mean so much the H&S laws but more people who interpret them wrong and turn everything into a nightmare
