On Teletext news today I read that X Factor has admittted using 'autotune' on some of the vocals during the first show. This brings the singing into perfect pitch and makes out-of-key singing sound in-key. More fakery then from this fake show!

Similar jiggerypokery is used in recording studios max, to make otherwise mediocre singers like Cheryl Cole sound half-decent. Which is why a lot of them get found out once they try to sing live.

Okay Cheryl still can't fucking sing even *with* the aid of studio wizardry - but you know what I mean.

The 'autotune' story has hit the headlines everywhere today-But the gullible public will still swallow this whatever happens on a Saturday night.

Anyway, instead of singing in the bath, take a recorder in with you, then send it to the X Factor. If you are 'out of tune' never mind,Sammy our 20-year old sound studio wizz kid will clean it up for you during his coffee break.

If you in anyway are 'attractive' don't bother...the back of a bus comes to mind.

Why do you think so few of them do sing live?

Even during so-called "live" performances, Cheryl Cole lip-syncs to stuff that she has pre-recorded and that has been cleaned up thanks to techno-wizardry. Spice Girls couldn't sing either, nor pretty much ANYONE that Simon Cowell has "discovered" through his various TV talent shows with the exception of Leona Lewis.

Its about making those judges richer - they pick the acts that will amuse and keep the audience watching so that the advertisers pay to have ads on the program.

People appearing on that show with nothing but hope that they will get 5 mins of fame. Earn enough to have a break from the normality of life. Does anyone actually tell some of the contestants that they are crap ? How do they manage to get so far ?

But still its a crap program

One thing that might make me watch the odd future episode of X-Factor is a girlband called Husstle who will be appearing. Watch this clip - I think you will agree they are 4 sexy ladies!

Typical X Factor contestants... utterly talentless, but because they "look sexy" and have a couple of choreographed moves they may make it past the initial auditions.

Max, why not get yourself a ticket to the Oxjam event in Brixton on 8th October. It's only ?4.50 and amongst the entertainment (singers, including one ex X Factor contestant from last year, dancers, comedians, etc) is a band called The Cherry Brakewells... 3 very sexy girls (all have done fashion/catalogue modeling). But here's where they differ from X Factor contestants... they write their own songs (Shernette the lead guitarist even co-wrote and provided backing vocals on a few songs on Tina Turner's 24/7 album) and play their own instruments. Influences are Cream, Led Zep and Jimi Hendrix.

Go on, be a devil and live a little!!! Oh, and all the money goes to Oxfam... all the performers are donating their time and talent for free.
