"Why don't you check out whats happening in Spain and Greece at the moment? They have Labour/ Socialist governments and they are all in deep SHITE!"

Bless! Quick geographical lesson, Jimbo. The UK is not Spain nor Greece. Neither is it Russia, China, Montenegro nor Somalia. So the argument that if a Labour government, say, in Basutoland is in the shit, the UK would be in the shit with a Labour gov. is perhaps not the most telling argument heard on this forum.

I am pleased that you have tried to find some links to back up your bizarre idea that the UK is like Greece, therefore we would be in the shit with a Labour gov. But then Jimbo, you go and blow it, by picking a story with a headline "The Reason for the Greek economic collapse. Retirement on a full pension at 38"

Didnt you notice, Jim that retirement in the UK is 65 for blokes and the Labour party had announced that they were increasing it? Those Labour bastards have been picking on you, Jimbo. They lied. You could have retired at 38 rather than carried on working!

No seriously, have a read of this link.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... -debt-cuts That will help you increase your understanding, I suspect.

The question you need to then ask yourself is why have the Tories/Lib Dems made such a thing of the UK being another Greece when it is nothing like it?

For my final lesson, what is the difference between Labour and the Tories in terms of planned cuts? The Labour party planned to cut the deficit in half within 4 years resulting in about 44billion of cuts. The Tories have committed to around about 80 billion of cuts.

So final question what do you think the difference will be between 80 billion and 44 billion in terms of the loss of jobs in a country only just recovering from the worst recession since the 1930's?

Have a nice day

David, have you ever been responsible for your own destiny? ever worked for yourself? ever had the responsibility of providing for yourself and those around you? ever had the resposibility of employing people?, or have you always thought the state should provide for you and yours?. Most politicians are in politics for two reasons..Power and Money, you should learn this as it's a fact, it doesn't matter if they are Labour or Tory, it's all a game of 'one upmanship'. Socialism to me means that you can have the services and benefits, but "WE" want to control your life and how you live it, whilst "We" take all we can get, Conservatism says, " We wont interfere, we will support you but you have to support yourself as well, this is far more healthy to me. A Nation that relies on state benefits is really not much different than a dictatorship, that was the way this country was going under the last Labour Govenment, look at the Mandleson creature, a man who has to leave the Government through scandal twice, a man who on the one hand embraces solialism, whilst living a totally different life in utter luxury..I dont know what the answer is, they are all bent, all I know is that I would rather make my own way in life without the constraints that so called "progressive Socialism" adds to it.
There! that was remarkably polite from me wasn't it, not one profanity.

Blair=CUNT
Brown=CUNT
Mandleson=Uber-Cunt
Harman=Top cunt
Straw=Evil
Balls= Undesrcibable cunt
Kinnock/s Socialist pretenders and boot fillers
and cunts
And all the rest, cunts cunts and cunts.

A rather long winded way of saying you prefer the Tories. But obviously you are more than entitled to your opinion.

How anyone can say that this country was heading to a Labour dictatorship when over 90% of the media in the UK is vehemently anti-Labour party is beyond me. Governments planning a dictatorship tend to take steps to control the media early on.

And personally I would have thought any connection between socialism and Tony Blair was purely coincidental.

"have you ever been responsible for your own destiny? ever worked for yourself? ever had the responsibility of providing for yourself and those around you? ever had the resposibility of employing people?"

The answer to all of those questions is yes, not that it's any of your business, before you launch into "you people dont know you are borne" nonsense.

My memory is that the compensation culture began when they deregulated solicitors and they were allowed to start advertising.

Wasn't that one of Maggie's bright ideas?

I say, steady on old boy! Speaking as a supporter of the Coalition (and therefore a top hat wearing, prol hating, money grabbing, inhuman bastard) I think it is reasonable to propose the following possible outcomes, as far as the future of the UK, for the next 5 years could have been:

1/ Under New Labour:

The 100,000's of public service workers, quangos, pen pushers, snoopers, benefits claimants and every other person lucky enough to have his/her snout in the public money trough, would have been safe and cackling with laughter at their gold plated pensions and conditions, whilst everyone outside the safety of this mammoth cocoon rotted!

The very rich would have been getting even richer and have still been stashing all their money outside the UK, with no interference from HMRC.

The people that work and pay tax in the private sector (Like me) would have been completely fucked over for every penny New Liebour could screw out of them.

The country would also be a dictatorship, where the police, local authorities and every other petty civil servant and official would have had Draconian powers over you and I. You, David, may have had a letter of "concern" mailed to your employer regarding your "Membership of BGAFD" and a suggestion that you should be sacked and don't mock, the bastards were already using the terrorism laws to compile ISP info on everyone. It would have been only a matter of time until they got round to us.

The country would also be bankrupt.

2/ Under the Coalition

We might have a chance at retaining and regaining the civil liberties that were so brutally stamped on by the New Labour Stalinist jack-boot, and if they do nothing else, that's quite enough for me!

This is my final word on the topic, old fruit, so give my regards to the Central Committee Politburo! I am now jumping into my Bentley and it's orff to my club in St James, for a spot of dinner, maybe grouse tonight methinks and afterwards a nice glass of Port in the drawing room, with my chums, Archie, Biffo and Rupert, he's such a wheeze! Oh, we Coalition Supporters certainly know how to live, doncha know, old boy! !hic!!cigar!!hic!!cigar!!hic!

Jimbo

Speed cameras
That well-known anti-motorist organisation, the Automobile Association commented about the Tory proposals
"We are slightly concerned," said Edmund King, president of the group.
"Road deaths have been falling year on year since fixed speed cameras were introduced and 70 per cent of our members support them," he commented.

But hey, who fucking cares if it saves you a few quid in fines, Jimbo?

M4 Bus lane
A 3.5 mile bus lane. Granted, the closing of this lane represents a blow to the heart of New Labour. The 3.5 miles bus lane was the key feature of Blair's New Labour government and the announcement of it being suspended is a body blow to the legacy of the last government. Nuff said.

Health and Safety
The other side of the coin, Jimbo
In the 2009 Conservative Party Conference Ken Clarke announced plans to allow firms to opt-out from official health and safety control by the HSE, introducing 'self-regulation' and allowing employers to regulate their own health and safety, allowing them to close the door to on official HSE Inspectors. Clarke added "there's too many Inspectors of one kind or another". The full details are published in Clarke's report "Regulation In The Post-Bureaucratic Age". The Tory policy of public services spending cuts would no doubt fall heavily on the HSE as it did mercilessly under the last Tory administration which adopted the approach of where it couldn't weaken EU Health and Safety Law it simply weakened its enforcement in the UK.

Who fucking cares though, if it increases a business's profit eh Jimbo?

CCTV
A Scotland Yard study into the effectiveness of surveillance cameras revealed that almost every Scotland Yard murder inquiry uses CCTV footage as evidence. In 90 murder cases over one year, CCTV footage was used in 86 of the investigations, and senior officers said that it helped in 65 cases by capturing the murderer on film or the movements of suspects before or after an attack. Scotland Yard?s head of homicide, Simon Foy, said: ?CCTV plays a huge role in helping us investigate serious crime. I hope people can understand how important it is to our success in catching people who commit murder.?"

Of those surveyed for a 2005 Home Office report into public attitudes towards CCTV, 82% either agreed or strongly agreed with the statement, ?Overall, the advantages of CCTV outweigh the disadvantages.?

Who fucking cares though, if there is a cost involved and Lord Ashcroft needs an airport built in the South Atlantic to help his business interests?

ID cards
Bastard New Labour authoritarian fucking shite!!!!

Err, as of 2002 11 out of the 15 EU countries carry id cards as a part of everyday life. They must all be run by the Labour party. Bastards!

Local council spying
Agreed. Far too much inappropriate use of legislation.

By the way, Jimbo, did you hear about Cameron's plan to have organised spying on financial affairs? David Cameron was accused of eroding people's financial privacy as he unveiled plans to expand the use of credit reference agencies to track down welfare cheats. The companies will check details of benefits payments against records of household spending to identify people suspected of fiddling the system. Investigators could receive a "bounty" for everyone they catch as the Government attempts to claw back the ?1.5bn lost each year to benefit fraudsters. Ye Haw, scalp them scroungers!

Police powers (Tazers issue)
The Lib Dem Cons are fully in favour of the use of tazers. All this story is about is that the licence of the company authorised to provide them to the police in the UK had their licence revoked for providing a type of tazer to the Northumbrian Police concerned in the Raul Moat case, which was at a test phase. The Raoul Moat case happened in July.

Have a nice day

I dont believe that any of the 11 are as intrusive as the card that was proposed for us. Our one would have had our details logged centrally every time it was inspected, not just by the police, but by your bank, doctor, pharmacist, hospital, building society, credit application, bill paying, tax office, the list goes on. An almost complete record of your life would have been built up allowing fishing expeditions, not just what you had done but the simple fact that you had done it. With the range of attacks on our civil liberties, it was the major reason this life-long labour voter left them some years ago.

Indeed, and if they had dropped ID cards they would have got my vote despite reservations. If one feels strongly about something, as I did about ID cards, the only protest one has is to not vote for a party, despite whatever good they may have done or intended to do in other fields, or how differently they might have handled the cuts.
