If the content is encrypted using an application&algorithm without a backdoor (truecrypt etc) then the only way to decrypt it is by obtaining the password or by brute forcing it (i.e. trying every possible permutation).

Brute forcing a 50 digit password using current hardware would take millions of years.

OK Sam,'suspected' paedophile...
The scum that trade in child porn need secure passwords and this bloke's was very secure.I should not say he is scum ...he was probably hiding some page three totty from his mum.He was arrested after officers suspected him of trading in child porn.I have no idea why.

Whatever angle you take it seems the police are falling short in child protection.

Thanks Twingo. Now I understand why they need the password. I thought it was just like a log on password and after that it was business as usual.
