If someone can tell me what Thatcher did for working people id be glad to hear it. Say what you want about Blair, but their was no minimum wage,no pension credits,no huge investments in schools and hospitals under Thatcher, their was under Blair.

"I don't think he corrects any of his minions, only people who have the temerity to disagree with him."

Minions! Rather delusional, methinks.

On the subject of education, in a world where the Lib Dems have thrown out nearly all of their pledges and the Tories announce the biggest reorganisation of the NHS of which there was absolutely no mention in their manifesto, read the following link for the first Labour government's adherence to their 1997 election promises.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/uk_ ... 959855.stm

As for whether the pledges implemented have brought success, then who said

"?There has been a breathtaking rise in performance in education since 1997. Inner London was a basket case pre-97; ninety per cent of students were failing to get decent grades at 16 back then. The improvement?s been astonishing, dramatic, unbelievable. Money, reform, leadership, pioneering methods, one-to-one tuition have all helped. That really counts, you cannot say they?ve done nothing. Sixty per cent of pupils on free school meals in some of the poorest areas now gain five GCSEs A-C, a massive rise from 13 years ago.?

No, not Tony Blair, but David Laws, the then Lib Dem Education spokesman.

Cheers

You are much more convincing as a clown than when you try to get involved in the factual detail. I would stick to the clowning, if I were you.
