Technically Kick Ass is a british film as hte producer Mathew Vaughn is resident on these shores and married to Claudia Schiffer..though the money ploughed into it might wel be american
Plus most of the film was actually shot here too with loads of virtual sets and not actually shot in the US
Has anyone seen a good British movie recently?

If you start excluding films because they have Yank funding there aren't going to be many "British" films left to choose from!

Actually, I meant "Any" good films not just British, I've given up with them. Anyway, I've rented out "Rec 2" as I loved the Spanish version of "Rec", with those horrible old lady zombies tearing peoples throats out. Brilliant film. I'll let you know what the sequals like.

Harry Brown, starring Michael Caine is quite good. A British crime flick about an old man who is pushed over the edge by what goes on in his neighbourhood. It is a certificate 18 and deserves to be.
It is funny watching Michael Caine in an interview in the 'extras' bit of the DVD. He has long ditched his south London accent and manner in favour of Jewish New York and is a strange mesh in every interview these days: "well we done da moo-vee in south London. I grew up in one of da apartments dat these criminal guys live in. I got out. It's an interesting moo-vee. I enjoyed doin da moo-vee".

Since I know you love horror Jimbo, may I suggest THE DESCENT,
set in USA but actually made and financed in the Uk and shot in
Scotland....also THE DESCENT 2 (same team). Put me off going
caving for life !!!
You are right about the tossers taking money away from the film
industry....it always seemed a worthwhile use of the National Lottery
to me and if it went - as critics said - on mainstream movies then why
not ! Better something I can try and enjoy than pseudo-intellectual
crap !!
Try a book instead. Since I know you love parody try reading QUEEN
VICTORIA - DEMON HUNTER " She loved her country...she hated
zombies !" Very much your cup of tea !

Just watched the sequel to the Spanish zombie film "Rec" and it wasn't bad!

Just seen the one where Lara Latex gets fucked up the Khyber by two lucky competition winners. Now that's a fucking good British movie.
If you are asking about going to the cinema, no I haven't. Not for twenty years or so. I'm a patient sort believe it or not and I just wait until they come to TV.

I've seen several good British films lately.
They were all in black and white and probably about 50-60 years old.
Anything wrong with the oldies?

Watched 'The Cottage' last night....
Directed by Paul Andrew Williams. With Andy Serkis & Jennifer Ellison - Made in 2008 - starts off as a really funny 'black comedy' about a bungled kidnapping and turns into a 'texas chainsaw massacre' - was gorey and funny all at the same time.-
